An attendee of the Missouri Photo Workshop, Daniel Stainer is an award-winning photographer and writer living in Western Pennsylvania. Daniel’s images are often described as being painterly—drawing the eye into a thoughtfully composed mélange of color, light, line, texture, tone and perspective.

Wandering the countryside in search of authentic slices of Americana, Daniel aspires to capture the essence and spirit of his subjects in much the same way that a poet might seek to understand the world in human terms through literary composition.

“Your photographs are beautiful. You have both strength and delicacy together. And clarity even in the moodiest pictures.”

Caldecott award-winning author and illustrator of “Picture This: How Pictures Work”
