Excellent image and Haiku, Dan. I enjoyed your earlier one as well. I am now further convinced that words and images can do more than complement each other: the whole is indeed greater than the sum of the parts, even fine parts such as these.
I am trying Haiku with some of my images and will send my attempt to you.

  Steve, I think you may have a point. The more I consider it, the more I am beginning to think that words can provide some additional context to an image–giving the viewer the back story, and possibly a deeper understanding. Of course, we must be careful in the words we choose, so that they compliment and augment, rather than pull the viewer in an unintended emotional direction, or are defined too literally, and have therefore made our images lean towards the cliché. Of course, you have a way with words, so that is not a worry. Thanks for commenting—and reading!
